All the following courses are organized through HRHSE. All the workshops are at no cost, but have a cancellation/no show fee.
General education aiming to destigmatize mental health in the workplace.
A course offered to Faculty and Staff at the University of Alberta provided by the Canadian Mental Health Commission of Canada. The course covers help given to someone developing a mental health problem or are in the midst of a mental health crisis using the ALGEES program.
Suicide Prevention:
Teaches Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training. It is a two-day, in-person workshop presented by the Centre of Suicide Prevention. Mental Health First Aid is a strongly recommended prerequisite.
Available to faculty, staff, and students. Teaches the essential skills for suicide awareness and prevention.
EFAP Courses:
The following are offered through the Employee and Family Assistance program. They may require an entry fee depending on the participants benefits package with the university.
